Students from the Petroleum Engineering (PETE) program successfully attained their WellSharp Level 2 certification from the International Association of Drilling Contractor (IADC).

The PETE Department is recognized as an accredited WellSharp Well Control Training Center. Our training is led by Mr. Randy Andres, who is very proud of our students accomplishments. Andres expressed, "Once again, our students have excelled in their certifications."

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette's PETE department stands out as the sole department nationwide holding this prestigious certification. Additionally, Mr. Andres holds IADC Accredited Well Control Instructor certification across four levels: 1-Awareness, 2-Introduction, 3-Drillers, and 4-Engineers and Supervisors.
