College of Engineering names the chairman and vice-chairman of its Dean’s Advisory Council

The College of Engineering is pleased to announce that Mr. Georges Antoun and Mr. Greg Guidry have agreed to serve as the Chairman and Vice-Chairman, respectively, of the College of Engineering Dean’s Advisory Council. Mr. Antoun is the Chief Commercial Officer of First Solar and Mr. Guidry is a retired Executive Vice President of unconventionals for Royal Dutch Shell.

The college recently formed a steering committee to establish its first Dean’s Advisory Council (DAC). The purpose of the DAC is to provide advice, advocacy, and support for the College of Engineering. The DAC members are prominent alumni and friends of the college from industry, government, and academia who are dedicated to excellence in engineering education, research and innovation, and workforce development.

“I am extremely excited that Georges and Greg have accepted the DAC Chairman and Vice Chairman positions,” Khattab said.  “The knowledge and experience these two gentlemen bring to the Council is a vital component to our success.  They will both be of tremendous value as we move forward in achieving the future vision for the college.”

Dean Khattab, working with Mr. Antoun, Mr. Guidry and the rest of the steering committee, is in the process of expanding the council to its full membership. It is expected that the first full DAC meeting will take place in October 2021.

The steering committee is chaired by Dean Khattab and comprises of the following members: Mr. Georges Antoun, Mr. Peter Bernard, Mr. Greg Guidry, Mr. Kam Movassaghi, Ms. Corinne Dupuy, Ms. Michelle Foreman and Ms. Rebecca Doucet.
