Dean's Spring 2021 Student Welcome Message

Dear Students of the College of Engineering,

Happy New Year and welcome back to the Spring 2021 semester!

Hopefully, your holiday gave you time to rest and refresh yourself for the start of a new semester. We all have much excited anticipation for what the New Year will bring. As the new semester begins, I am eager – as I know you are – to immerse myself in the important work ahead of us.

Our mission in the College of Engineering is to provide you with another successful semester, under COVID-19 constraints. During 2020, our faculty, staff, and administrators worked tirelessly to ensure that the quality of your instruction remained at the highest possible level. We intend to continue this effort for the Spring 2021 semester as well.

Even with a mix of hybrid and on-campus classes, many students will be back on campus and your safety is still our major concern. Please mask up, social distance, socialize smartly, and learn the symptoms of COVID-19.

With COVID-19 comes a greater awareness that life is precious, that we are all in this together and that we will get through this by working together and keeping each other safe.

I look forward to seeing you all back on campus for the successful completion of another semester which will bring you closer to your goal of graduation.

Dean of the College of Engineering
