Dear Students of the College of Engineering,

With the recent University announcement to move to remote delivery, I wanted to reach out to my Ragin’ Cajun engineering family. Let me start by saying you are a valued member of our family. This past week has reminded me that our Ragin’ Cajun community is much more than just a place of learning – it’s a tightly knit community with many stories of support and willingness to help each other.

The University is taking appropriate measures to ensure the health and safety of our University family. We (Department Heads, Deans, Provost, upper administration) have been in direct communication, meetings, sending emails and sharing information at all hours of the day and night to do our best to support you throughout this process.

The transition to remote delivery requires a learning curve, not only for you but for all of us and I totally understand this. Your professors will communicate with you regarding the remote delivery of your classes. You should be very proud of our faculty and staff; they have been working tirelessly to assure a seamless transition to remote learning.

Please be assured that we are here with the support you need. In every step of this process, we are keeping in mind what is best for you.

The College of Engineering is here to help you. We are all in this together, and we will get through this together!

Geaux Cajuns!

Ahmed Khattab, Ph.D.
