Dean's Message to the Faculty & Staff of the College of Engineering on Remote Delivery

Dear Colleagues,

With the recent University announcement to move to remote delivery, I wanted to reach out to my Ragin’ Cajun engineering family. We are strong and powerful when working together. It does not mean it will be easy: however, together we will overcome the challenges. There will be a learning curve for all of us and I totally understand this, and I appreciate all that you are doing through this transition. We will do our best to support you throughout this process.

I am working with your Department Head continuously as well as other Deans, the Provost, and upper administration; the University is taking appropriate measures to ensure the health and safety of our University family. Department Heads and I have been in direct communication, sending emails and sharing information at all hours of the day and night. I will continue to share with them every piece of information so they can keep you fully informed.

Thank you for your cooperation in working with your Department Head in developing your continuity plans for remote delivery. Department Heads updated me this morning, during our Department Heads meeting, on the progress of these plans. I look forward to receiving your plans on Monday from your Department Head.

I am proud to work with such a fine group of faculty, staff, assistant deans and department heads. This is a situation like no other we have had to deal with. Please remember to always keep in mind what is best for our students.

Remember, although challenging, together we will overcome this!

Best regards,

Ahmed
