Coastal Engineering

Students pursuing this minor will be better prepared for careers in coastal systems engineering, including coastal restoration and coastal protection, which are of critical importance for the state of Louisiana, as well as to many other coastal states in the US. The minor provides students with a technical and competitive edge. Graduates with this minor will be uniquely prepared to address and solve challenges facing Louisiana coastal ecosystems and other coastal regions worldwide.

The curriculum is 18 credit hours with up to six hours can be used for credit toward the student’s engineering degree. This minor is only open to undergraduate students enrolled in engineering majors (Chemical, Civil, Electrical and Computer, Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering).
