Authur & Lavenia Faulk/BORSF Endowed Superior Graduate Scholarship in Electrical Engineering
The University, combined with the support of the GI Bill, proved to be a transformative opportunity for Authur Faulk and his family. He and my mother, Lavenia, became first-generation college graduates, paving the way for future generations.
Aurthur majored in electrical engineering, entering the field at a pivotal time when the country was rapidly expanding its application of electricity in the post-war economy. His education not only fueled his career but also enriched the lives of his family. As a testament to the value of higher education, all five of their children graduated from college—four proudly earning their degrees from UL Lafayette.
Recognizing the profound impact the University had on two generations of our family, we establish this scholarship in their memory. It is our hope that it will provide deserving students with the opportunity to pursue an education that will shape their futures, just as it did for Arthur and Lavenia. Through this scholarship, we honor their legacy and express our deep gratitude for the foundation the University has provided.
