Dear faculty and staff of the College of Engineering,

Happy New Year and Welcome Back! Hopefully, your holiday gave you time to rest and refresh yourself for the start on the Spring 2021 semester. We all have much excited anticipation for what the new year will bring. As the new semester begins, I am eager – as I know you are – to immerse myself in the important work ahead of us.

We have had two and a half successful semesters under COVID-19 because of your commitment to our college and I am confident our Spring 2021 semester will be successful as well. I appreciate your tireless efforts to ensure that the quality of your instruction remains at the highest possible level.

As we begin the semester, please remember that safety is still our major concern for both our faculty and staff as well as our students. COVID-19 numbers are still very high in our local community. Please mask up, social distance, and know the symptoms of COVID-19. With COVID-19 comes a greater awareness that life is precious, that we are all in this together, and that we will get through this by working together and keeping each other safe. I look forward to working with all of you this semester.

Welcome Back!

Dr. Ahmed Khattab
Dean of the College of Engineering
