Greg Guidry, P.E.

Executive Vice President, Unconventionals - Shell

Greg is a senior executive with Shell, a company he joined in New Orleans, Louisiana after receiving his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Southwestern Louisiana (now UL Lafayette) in 1982. Throughout his 35+ year career, he gained broad experience from technical roles in drilling and reservoir engineering to management roles in exploration, development, asset management, and strategy. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Louisiana. 

Greg held assignments in Canada and Europe over the course of his career. While in Canada, he led Shell’s onshore oil and gas production activities for North America. During his tenure in Europe, Greg led Shell’s upstream business in eight European countries and was responsible for Shell’s midstream gas supply operations in 19 countries. He also had global functional responsibility for Production. In January 2013, Greg was named Executive Vice President for Shell’s global Unconventionals business, which focuses on extraction of oil and gas from shale.  

Throughout his career, Greg has remained active in industry affairs. He currently serves as Chair of the American Petroleum Institute’s Upstream Committee.
