Don Mosing earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University in 1950 (known then as Southwestern Louisiana Institute). Don lettered in football and in track & field during his time as a student here. He was the longtime president of the family business known today as Frank’s International. During his 67 years of leadership and innovation at Frank’s, Don helped the company, started by his father, Frank Mosing, in 1938, grow into a global oilfield services company with 3,000 employees in 60 countries on six continents. Building on his university education in mechanical engineering, Don has earned 60+ patents covering a wide variety of oilfield tubulars handling inventions. In 1997, Don received the LAGOE Looey award from the Louisiana Gulf Coast Oil Exposition, and, in 2011, World Oil Magazine honored him with its prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.
