SPE Clyde David Jones Memorial Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the Evangeline Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers to recognize excellence in the petroleum engineering discipline and to support and further the education of qualified engineering students in memory of Clyde David Jones.
Mr. Jones was the chairman of the SPE Spindletop Section at the time of his death in 1998.
He strived for excellence in all aspects of his life. The SPE Spindletop Section was established in 1999 and its Louisiana members became part of the SPE Evangeline Sections. This scholarship was established to assist the Petroleum Engineering Department at UL Lafayette in recruiting and retaining the students who will be the petroleum engineers of tomorrow and who will help shape the future of the petroleum industry in the 21st century.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a sophomore, junior or senior
- Must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be a Louisiana resident
