Raymond E. Jenkins Endowed Scholarship
The Raymond. E. Jenkins Scholarship Fund has been established to recognize the contributions made to the Mechanical Engineering Department by Professor Jenkins during his tenure at USL.
Professor Jenkins graduated from USL with a BS in ME in 1942. After spending time in industry and the military, he returned to USL in 1947 as a Department of Mechanical Engineering faculty member. He received his master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from LSU in 1951, became Department Head in 1977 and remained in that position until retirement in 1986. His contributions to the school and to the students du ring that time were significant and are still in evidence. He is particularly remembered by his associates for his love of teaching, and for the respect his students had for him as a person.

- Must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
