Dr. Burke Huner Endowed Engineering Student Leadership Scholarship

Dr. Burke Huner joined the faculty of the William Hanson Hall Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 1988.  During his tenure at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Dr. Huner has served in many positions.  He served twice as the acting head of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Assistant to the Dean of Engineering, and later as the Executive Assistant to the Dean of Engineering.  In 2009, he was appointed to the position of Assistant Dean of Engineering.

Dr. Huner holds a B.S. and Ph.D. in Physics from Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge and a
M.S. in Electrical Engineering from LSU.  He is widely recognized among his peers as an innovator with curriculum development and has focused much of his career toward teaching resource development.

Dr. Huner holds the rank of Associate Professor within the William Hanson Hall Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UL Lafayette.  He is a member of the American Association of Physics Teachers, International Society of Hybrid Microelectronics, IEEE, ASEE, and the Louisiana Academy of the Sciences.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Must be the elected President of the student chapter of the IEEE
  2. Must have a minimum 2.8 cumulative GPA
