Dr. Felix J. Boudreaux Endowed Scholarship in Electrical Engineering

Francis Rachal created this scholarship as a way of giving back to the college where he became an Electrical Engineer. His wish is to help others with similar aspirations.

Rachal attended UL Lafayette (then SLI) from 1956-1959. I t provided a solid learning environment and an equally good learning experience. In May of 1959, he received his BSEE at UL Lafayette. During his senior year, Westinghouse Electrical Corporation recruited him, and he took a job with the company that summer. Rachal continued working at Westinghouse for the next 35 years. He began as an Engineer and retired as a Manager. While working at Westinghouse, Rachal attended The Johns Hopkins University (JHU) Graduate School in Baltimore, MD. He received his MSEE from the JHU Evening Program in 1968.

Since graduating from UL Lafayette, Rachal often thought about just how much he gained from going to school here. His professor at UL Lafayette, Dr. Felix J. Boudreaux (then Mr. Felix J. Boudreaux) was an especially great inspiration for him. For that reason. Rachal wishes to create a Scholarship Fund in his honor that students of the future may be as inspired as he was.
