Mac Hays/Teche Electric Supply Endowed Scholarship in Electrical Engineering
Magruder "Mac" Hays was born in 1927 and raised in Waterproof, Louisiana. He graduated from Tulane University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. At the date this scholarship was established, Mac and his wife, Madeline, had seven children, 18 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Six of their children graduated from UL Lafayette, and three grandchildren were attending the university. Mac Hays founded Teche Electric Supply in 1962 in Lafayette. The company has grown to 14 locations in South Louisiana as well as locations in Mississippi.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a junior or senior in Electrical and Computer Engineering
- Must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Must be a US citizen
- Must be a Louisiana resident
- Must be a Louisiana high school graduate
