Professor Hiram Russell Mason Memorial Endowed Scholarship
This memorial scholarship is being established in the name of Hiram Russell Mason who was the Head of the Electrical Engineering Department at Southwestern Louisiana Institute in the l 940's and into the 1950's.
Hiram Russell Mason was a no-nonsense taskmaster with a heart of gold. It was through his efforts that the Electrical Engineering ship was afloat when the primary emphasis of SLI was agriculture. His E.E. graduates were recognized in Louisiana and nationally.
Eligibility Requirements
- Preference for junior, senior or graduate student
- Must have a minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA (graduate student - 3.0 or higher)
- Must be a US citizen
- Must be a Louisiana or Texas resident
