Emery & Bea Domingue Endowed Engineering Scholarship

Engineering was one of Emery’s lifelong passions, and he was active in numerous professional organizations, including serving as an officer in many of them. His awards and recognitions by the engineering community are extensive, the highlight of which was in 2011 when he was presented with the Wall of Fame award by both the Acadiana Branch of the ASCE as well as the Louisiana Section of the ASCE; these are the highest levels of professional acknowledgement given by the organization.

Long before computers, copy machines, faxes and the everyday tools engineers today are used to, Emery and Bea, worked side by side in the early years of DSA in all aspects of running an engineering firm and producing Construction Plans and Specifications.

Emery’s devotion to the Engineering profession was a lifelong passion. Throughout his life, he continually acknowledged his professional and personal success as a joint effort that he and Bea had achieved together, frequently expressing gratitude for her many years of business contributions as well as her devotion and faith in his abilities. It is in honor of his dedication to the profession, his & Bea’s lifelong devotion to one another, and the importance he attributed to learning the business aspects of the profession, that this Designing Leaders award was established.
