Ibrahim Al-Alawi

Born in Baton Rouge, La., Ibrahim worked for 15 years in various positions on rigs and in offices within the drilling division of the Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations before joining AlMansoori Specialized Engineering in Abu Dhabi as business development manager in 2004. In this position, he traveled extensively throughout the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia, playing an instrumental role in the company’s expansion into new territories. Later on, he spent two years as manager of operations in North Africa, based in Tripoli, Libya, before returning to Abu Dhabi to become chief operating officer. His current position is deputy CEO.

Ibrahim has been a lifelong member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers since joining the student chapter during his college days at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (USL). He served in many positions on the Society of Petroleum Engineers Board of the Abu Dhabi Chapter, including chairman. Ibrahim is also an active committee member for the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference and the Middle East Drilling Technology Conference, as well as other Society of Petroleum Engineers workshops, conferences, and exhibitions in the region.
