WHC “Building a Pipeline of Future Construction Leaders” Non-Endowed Scholarship

WHC Energy Services formed in 1957 as a family-owned energy infrastructure construction company. From the beginning, we built world-class projects and quickly gained a reputation for quality. Seven decades later and we have delivered energy infrastructure projects to over 40 States.

Today, we are part of Canadian-based Surerus Murphy and together we are a North American center of excellence for pipeline and energy facilities’ construction as well as leaders in renewable energy infrastructure projects, such as utility-scale solar farms, battery energy storage, renewable natural gas, carbon capture and storage, hydrogen energy, and more.

Our partners lean on us to provide early project development, technical advice, procurement support and quality construction. We also provide quick turn-around integrity and field services projects where we can work in tight quarters and timelines efficiently and without disruption and then demobilize without disturbance.

We partner with our clients to understand their needs to provide a service that is collaborative, high quality and good value. Above all else, we deliver our work with a focus on safety and with respect for the communities in which we work.

 

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Student recipient must be admitted to the University and enrolled as a full-time student.
  2. Student recipient must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
  3. Student recipient must be enrolled in one of the following disciplines within the College of
    Engineering to be eligible: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical
    Engineering, and Construction Management.
  4. Student recipient must be classified as a sophomore, junior, or senior.
  5. Preference given to students who are residents of the United States.
  6. Preference given to students who demonstrate financial need.
  7. Preference given to students who demonstrate community involvement.
  8. Preference given to students with demonstrated interest in pursuing careers in the
    construction and/or energy infrastructure industry.
