Dean’s Advisory Council Highlights Momentum Like Never Before, with Engineering Positioned as the Growth Engine for the University’s Vision
Mon, 05/04/2026 - 4:08pmThe Spring 2026 Dean's Advisory Council (DAC) meeting centered on the theme "Momentum Like Never Before: Engineering as the Growth Engine Advancing Louisiana Vision 2035," the meeting highlighted the College of Engineering’s sustained progress over the past six years across enrollment, research, academic innovation, and workforce development. This momentum aligns with the direction set by our new President, Dr. Ramesh Kolluru through his vision for the University "Louisiana Vision 2035." Dr. Geoffrey Stewart, Assistant Vice President for Innovation and Economic Development, joined the meeting to share an overview of the University’s strategic priorities.

Greg Guidry, DAC chair, opened the meeting by welcoming new council member Charles Madison, Managing Executive of the Asymmetric Operations Sector at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, where he leads efforts supporting homeland protection, special operations, cyber operations, and national health mission areas.
Dean Khattab highlighted the College’s alignment with the University's Vision 2035, sharing both short- and long-term strategic priorities and engaging the board in discussion on how they can support and advance these efforts. Following a robust exchange of ideas, the meeting was adjourned by Greg Guidry.
Earlier this year, the council also welcomed Stuart Billeaud, President and Chief Executive Officer of J.B. Mouton, LLC, who oversees operations for the fifth generation of his family’s legacy in construction and development.
DAC members gathered, prior to the meeting, for a lively brunch at the historic Roy House, one of the oldest homes on campus and home to the Center for Louisiana Studies. Dr. Josh Caffery, Director of the Center for Louisiana Studies, provided a tour and shared the rich history of the home, adding depth to the experience. The setting offered a warm and distinctive backdrop for conversation, bringing together the College’s Outstanding Graduates, members of the Dean’s Student Advisory Council, and university leadership for meaningful connection in a relaxed, informal atmosphere.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the members of the DAC for their continued commitment to the College of Engineering. Participation remains strong, reflecting the council’s deep engagement and investment in the College’s success. Those in attendance included Greg Guidry, Chair; Missy Rogers, Vice Chair; Georges Antoun, past Chair; Stuart Billeaud; Monique Boulet, Lafayette Parish Mayor-President; Thomas Chance; Lila Fox; Scott Hoffpauir; Charles Madison; and Shawn Wilson.
