Mark Zappi Receives 2026 LEF Faculty Professionalism Award

leadership in the engineering profession.
A licensed professional engineer, Zappi is widely respected for his contributions to engineering education, research, and service. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing professional practice, mentoring students, and promoting the importance of licensure and ethical responsibility within engineering.
The Faculty Professionalism Award highlights faculty members who serve as role models for students and colleagues by bringing professional engineering practice into the classroom and encouraging future engineers to pursue licensure.
Dr. Zappi will be recognized during the Louisiana Engineering Society Honors and Awards Presentation in March at the City Club of Baton Rouge.
