Curtis and Gloria Broussard Endowed Scholarship in Engineering
This scholarship has been created in loving memory of Joseph "Curtis" Broussard. Curtis was a graduate of Southwestern Louisiana Institute, now known as the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he obtained a degree in Petroleum Engineering. Curtis married his wife of 64 years, Gloria Luquette, in 1959 and started life together as he began a career working on the production side of the oil industry for the next 20 years with companies such as National Tank Co., and Glenn Gilley G&A/USA. In 1985, he began working with ECI, where he gained partnership before retiring in 1999. Curtis and Gloria lived all over the world during his career, and they continued their travels across the USA, Canada, and overseas during his retirement. Curtis was the epitome of a professional petroleum engineer with an unwavering attention to detail and a passion for high standards. He and Gloria are establishing this scholarship with the hopes of assisting future generations of students in the College of Engineering.
