The College of Engineering proudly hosted its second seminar in our Distinguished Lecture Series, featuring Dr. Terry Chambers, recipient of the Distinguished Professor Award and a global leader in solar energy technologies also known as the “Sun King.”

Dr. Chambers captivated the audience with his talk, "Developing a Solar Research Program," highlighting his work as director of the Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Energy Center and the University's historic $100 million HERO initiative. Afterwards, Dr. Henry Cardenas, Director of the MALT Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) Program at LaTech University, recognized graduate students; Tamjid Shafiq and Md. Zahid Hasan, with Certificates of Achievement for completing the requirements set forth by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Industrial Assessment Center Program.  Dr. Peng Yin and Dr. Chambers lead the IAC satellite Center in the Department of Mechanical Engineering along with a team of graduate and undergraduate students in mechanical engineering.

The event concluded with a social gathering, bringing together faculty, students, and staff to connect, collaborate, and celebrate the achievements of our engineering community.
