UL Lafayette Petroleum Engineering (PETE) students attended the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) and Society of Petroleum Engineering (SPE) International Drilling Conference and Exhibition 2022 in Galveston, TX this week compliments of IADC.  Day one included a rig tour of Valaris class 8500 series semi-submersible – a massive deep water drilling rig.

Advancing their technical knowledge, growing their network and discovering the latest scientific understanding of drilling in oil and gas exploration and production. That’s PETE, always connecting the dots with great education of subject matter and up-to-date current technology in the industry.

Many thanks to IADC in covering all expenses for our students to attend and Randy Andres for having such a passion for his students and the subject matter.  Why?? Because "drilling matters" says Mr. Andres.
