Dr. Ahmed Khattab has been named Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.  His appointment, effective July 1, 2020, has been approved by the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors on Friday, September 4, 2020. 

The University conducted a national search attracting more than 75 applications.  Three highly qualified candidates were chosen for on-campus interviews. Dr. Khattab was selected as the top candidate to serve as the seventh Dean to lead the College of Engineering since its establishment in 1940.
