Dean's Message to Friends of the College of Engineering on Remote Delivery

Dear Friends,

With the recent University announcement to move to remote course delivery, I want to update you on our Ragin’ Cajun engineering family. This experience has reminded me that the University, and the College of Engineering in particular, is much more than a place of learning. It is a tight knit community.

Once the decision was announced on March 13th, our Ragin’ Cajun family immediately went into action demonstrating our resilience and willingness to help each other. As you can imagine, the College of Engineering and University leadership teams have been in non-stop communication to support our students, faculty and staff throughout this process. Please be assured that the University has taken appropriate measures to ensure the health and safety of our University family.

Our faculty and staff worked tirelessly to ensure a seamless transition to remote learning for our students. You should be very proud of our faculty and students, their willingness to meet the challenge shows their Ragin’ Cajun spirit and superior work ethic.

I am proud of what we have accomplished throughout this transition. This is a situation like no other we have had to deal with. Please remember, although challenging, together we will overcome this!

Best Wishes & Geaux Cajuns!

Ahmed Khattab, Ph.D.
Interim Dean of the College of Engineering
University of Louisiana at Lafayette
