Toby J. Begnaud

President, Completions and Well Intervention – Baker Hughes

Toby is a native of Lafayette, La. and prior to earning his degree, he served in the Louisiana National Guard. Within a week of his graduation from UL Lafayette (USL), he started his career with Baker Hughes. Toby began as a field engineer and continued his work in various capacities, including engineering, project management, sales, operations, and several executive roles.

He has extensive international experience working in the United States, United Kingdom, France, and United Arab Emirates, with responsibilities spanning over North America Offshore, Southern US Land, Africa, Qatar, UAE, Oman, Yemen, Pakistan, Europe, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan. In July 2017, Toby transitioned into the role of president of completions and well intervention, leading global business for Baker Hughes.

Toby serves on the Industrial Advisory Board for the Petroleum Engineering Department. He was also a member of Baker Hughes’ winning team, the 2018 Special Meritorious Awards for Engineering Innovation.
