Marathon Oil Non-Endowed Scholarship

Marathon Oil Corporation established this non-endowed scholarship for the UL Lafayette's College of Engineering to help it recruit high-performing high school students with competitive financial aid and scholarship packages while developing future engineers and strong employees.  Marathon has a track record of investing in education from kindergarten through college to strengthen communities and build the future workforce.  It supports science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) curriculum enhancements, literacy, teacher training and development, programs aimed at meeting community social needs that impact educational outcomes, and college scholarships.

Marathon's goals are to stimulate interest in STEM fields and increase the number of students who finish high school and continue their education at a two or four-year college.  The company's hope in pursuing STEM fields is that some of these students to work for Marathon Oil and become industry leaders in the future.
