Industry Volunteers and Participants

The UL College of Engineering and the UL Student Chapter of the Louisiana Engineering Society, LES, would like to invite you to our annual Engineering and Technology Expo Day on Wednesday, Wednesday, March 11, 2020! We are looking for exhibitors, volunteers, and sponsors for this event. This E&T Expo is an opportunity for potential students to tour UL’s College of Engineering and get a “close up” look at what UL has to offer in the fields of engineering and technology. It is also a great opportunity to learn about possible careers. Last year we had a record-breaking crowd of over 2,200 students, parents, and teachers. We also had over 300 UL volunteers and industry participants!

Most industry participation is centered on our Engineering & Technology Expo Day on Wednesday, March 11, 2020. The E&T Expo Day is always on the Wednesday of Engineering & Technology Week and is the only event open to the public. We want as many dynamic and exciting industry booths as possible. You can offer advice, provide an interactive station, show a video, play a game, display equipment, and/or give away promotional items. This is a great opportunity for you to recruit current and future UL Engineering students and to network with other companies. Please fill out our online reservation form so we can reserve a space that will meet your needs. There is no registration fee for this event. Online forms can be found on engineering.louisiana.edu/industry.

Although our biggest need for industry participants is on Wednesday during the E&T Expo Day, there are other ways to contribute to our Engineering & Technology Week. E&T Week is full of activities for our current UL engineering students. We are looking for event sponsors, contest judges, and guest speakers. Activities include, but are not limited to, a student presentation contest, an undergraduate and graduate poster contest, departmental Quiz Bowl, Mystery Design Competition (sponsored by Noble Plastics), sporting events, guest speakers, and the E&T Week Awards Banquet to name a few. If you are interested in contributing please fill out the online registration form at engineering.louisiana.edu/industry.

E&T Expo Day begins at 8:30 am and concludes at 12:30 pm. We have reserved complimentary parking spaces for our industry participants. Because of the limited parking on campus we ask that you arrive as early as possible at anytime before 7:30 am. More detailed parking instructions will be given at the registration booth on the morning of the event. Parking will most likely be in the garage, which is located on Girard Park Circle. As soon as your vehicle is unloaded at the drop off area at Madison Hall, we ask that you immediately park in the lot that we reserved. If you arrive at the parking lot after 7:30 AM we cannot guarantee a space. Once you have set up your display, please help yourself to breakfast located in Madison Hall’s conference room provided by UL Career Services.

Please encourage any students you know to attend Engineering & Technology Expo Day on Wednesday, March 11, 2020. To facilitate event planning, we request ALL industry participants complete the registration form by February 28th if possible. If you have any questions regarding the event or would like additional information, please call LaShaun Bordelon at 337-482-5888 or email at EandTexpo@louisiana.edu. Thank you for your participation for this fun and exciting event.
