Pre-MBA Specialty Minor

The Pre-MBA Specialty Minor covers courses in accounting, business law, economics, finance, management, marketing and others. Engineers with an MBA are highly sought after and are prepared to enter management positions after earning their MBA and engineering degree. The pre-MBA minor is designed so students can complete three of the five the leveling courses required to begin the MBA program at UL Lafayette. The Pre-MBA Specialty Minor, is open only to students enrolled in the College of Engineering.

MBA Foundation Graduate Courses

Students must satisfy the requirements of three of the five MBA Foundation Graduate Courses on the following list:

  • ACCT 201 and 202
  • MBA 501: Survey of Economics & Finance
  • (ECON 201 and 202, OR ECON 300) and FNAN 300
  • MBA 502: Survey of Management & Management Information Systems
  • MGMT 320 and BSAT 303
  • MBA 503: Survey of Marketing & the Legal Environment of Business
  • MKTG 345 and BLAW 310
  • MBA 504: Survey of Statistics & Operations Management
  • (QMET 251 and 352) and BSAT 382

Required Courses for Pre-MBA Specialty Minor

(minimum 18 credit hours, with 6 hours at the 300-400 level)

Three of the following five options must be selected for the Pre-MBA Specialty Minor:

  • ACCT 201 & ACCT 202
  • (ECON 201 & 202, or ECON 300) & FNAN 300
  • MGMT 320 & BSAT 303
  • MKTG 345 & BLAW 310
  • (QMET 251 and 352) & BSAT 382

Students must meet all requirements and prerequisites/co-requisites listed in the catalog for all courses in the minor.
