Chemical Engineering

Chemical engineering is concerned with the development and application of manufacturing processes wherein materials undergo physical or chemical change. A Chemical Engineer applies knowledge of new products or procedures gained through basic and applied research to industrial scale processes. Chemical Engineers are ubiquitous in industries that include but are not limited to oil and gas, refining, petrochemicals, biochemicals, energy conversion, pulp and paper, and textiles.

Civil Engineering

Civil engineers design, plan, construct, and operate those physical works and facilities essential to modern life. A civil engineer may choose to become a consulting engineer in private practice, accept employment in industries including manufacturing and petroleum, enter the construction field, or work with municipal, state, or federal agencies.

Electrical & Computer Engineering

Electrical engineering evolves out of the great scientific discoveries of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. Thus, of all of the traditional engineering disciplines, electrical engineering is among the youngest and still evolving. The practice of Electrical Engineering is closely linked with advancements in both the mathematical and physical sciences. The Electrical Engineer of today is now using technologies that were not dreamed of ten years ago, and the electrical engineer of the future will, no doubt, be engaged in activities using tools that are as yet unknown.

Engineering & Technology Management

Engineering & Technology Management is an interdisciplinary graduate program in the College of Engineering. This program provides a balanced field of knowledge in management theory and practice, management science, statistics, functional engineering areas, finance, and economics. Engineering Management and Technology is a program designed for students aspiring to manage engineering projects or technical businesses.

Industrial Technology

The Industrial Technology program prepares management-oriented technical professionals for employment in industry, business, government, and education. Graduates of the Industrial Technology program are prepared to seek technical and managerial careers in a variety of fields including computer integrated manufacturing, mechanical and fluid power, electronics and computers, information and imaging technology, construction, and safety.

Mechanical Engineering

A mechanical engineer is primarily a designer, builder, and tester of equipment used in almost every facet of industry. Because the need for mechanical engineers is almost universal, graduates of this program will be able to choose from a wide variety of specialization fields as well as geographical location of employment.

Petroleum Engineering

Petroleum engineering is a unique profession. It is concerned not only with the design and use of wells and well systems for producing oil, gas, and other liquified natural resources from the earth, but also for conveying these fluids into, out of, or through the earth’s subsurface. The role of the Petroleum Engineer in this global economy is to manage the technology and information in oil and gas operations.
